Inspired in the recent proposal of Soulbound Tokens (SBT), about personal and untransferable digital assets that represents achievements and remarkable moments in someone’s life, the digital gallery V8art launched a NFT buttons collection related to real objects delivered directly to purchasers present at NFT.Rio, event to be held from June 30 to July 3rd in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The NFT button is free, there’s only the mint costs on Polygon blockchain, and will be a proof of meeting and soulbound (professionally of course) between the digital asset owner and the V8art’s staff. The gallery’s idea is using the S2BT format, starting in the NFT.Rio event, until the SBT token standard arrives to the market.
The Soulbound Token idea that excited the Web3 enthusiasts was proposed by Vitalik Buterin in an academic paper – Decentralized Society: Finding Web3’s Soul – signed together with 2 other researcher. Previously the Ethereum creator explained the issue in a post on his own blog: Soulbound.
Otherwise the Soulbound Button Token, which real button can be personally picked up at the NFT.Rio event, has its design shows the famous Redeemer statue in place of the letter T of the acronym S2BT. The physical buttons are numbered and unique like the digital assets related to them.
The creators of the S2BT issued the idea as public domain, meaning that every other person or company can reuse and adapt it to any future events and experiences, if they liked. This while people await for the SBT tokens standard and its adoption as the next big impact and use of blockchain and NFT.
